American West Heritage Center
Mountain Man & Shoshone Field Trip– 1820 time period – Students will visit the trader cabin, learn how to make pemmican (a high energy food), how to build and take down a miniature size tipi, how to do beading and cordage (braiding), learn about trapping and furs and try their hand a throwing a tomahawk. Roughly a 2 hours experience.

McConkie Ranch Petroglyphs
The beautifully preserved petroglyphs are just north of Vernal, at McConkie Ranch in Dry Fork Canyon. These panels cover 200 feet along a cliff face in the Navajo formation. It’s believed the petroglyphs were crafted somewhere between 1-1200 CE. They are excellent examples of Fremont Native American culture. 
 The images include various people and symbols along with large renditions of the various animals that populate the region. Many are also numbered, detailing where various archaeologists have worked across the site.

Utah Shakespeare Festival
School Matinee performance of the 39 Steps. Before the performance, students will get a behind the scenes theatre tour and talkback with the company. Children ages 6+ may attend the play. The theatre provides daycare for younger children for the duration of performances for $10/child if needed.

This is the Place Historic Landmark
Step back in time and see the West as it was in the early settlement of Utah. Ride one of three trains, the Jupiter, Blackhawk or the 119, as they tour around the Park. Or enjoy a ride around the pond on the Mini Train. Students will enjoy a guided, 2.5 hour, "hands on" total environment learning laboratory that is both fun and educational. Students might attend a pioneer school class, do chores, visit the shaving parlor, watch the blacksmith, or pull a handcart. They actually experience pioneer life and compare it to modern times.

Golden Spike National Monument
One of the greatest technological achievements of the 19th century is the completion of the first transcontinental railroad across the United States. Visitors to the park can see the location of the Last Spike Site, 1869 railroad construction features, walk or drive on the original railroad grade, and get an up close view of Victorian era replica locomotives. We will view a steam demonstration from the locomotives, learning about the race to build the transcontinental railroad, and explore the 1.5 mile trail that showcases construction techniques used to build the railroad.

Natural History Museum of Utah
The Natural History Museum of Utah is the state's official museum of natural history. Fantasy Canyon
Fantasy Canyon is crowded with intricate and peculiar stone figures that are a unique expression of rock weathering and erosion. Covering only a few acres, this miniature canyon can be viewed up-close on a short 0.6-mile loop trail.

Silver Reef Museum
Silver Reef was a mining boomtown in the late 1800s with the discovery of silver in sandstone- a geological rarity. The area is now a Wild West Ghost Town located in a stunning geologic setting. Start your visit at the Wells Fargo Express Stop Building and take a guided tour of the historical Museum, which is registered with the National and Utah State Registers of Historic Buildings. Walking trails take you around the old Main street and to other points of interest on the grounds behind the museum.

Museum of Natural Curiosity
More than 400 hands-on exhibits make the Museum of Natural Curiosity one of the best children’s museums in Utah. Black Island Farms
Our farm field trip will include a trip through one of their mazes, a scenic ride to the special field trip pumpkin patch where each child will be able to pick their own pumpkin straight from the vine, learning about crops and growing, and a cow train ride (for appropriate ages).

Staheli Family Farm
Corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides and more! The Staheli Family Farm isn’t just a place where cows live or simply a place where food grows, it’s a place where real life happens.  It’s what our family has done for six generations. Come enjoy the fall festivities and learn about crops.

Rowley Red Barn Orchards
The Red Barn has been growing since 1913. Following this tradition Phil and Shirley Rowley started their own farm and business in 1984. The farm grows apples, cherries, peaches, pumpkins, and alfalfa. They have delicious cider and a great fall festival where we will learn about some of the first machines that shaped the history of agriculture, ride the wagon around the farm, meet animals in the barn yard, and enjoy other fall activities.

USU Museum of Anthropology

LDS Humanitarian Center
The Humanitarian Center provides a location to sort and assemble clothing, quilts, hygiene and school kits, and emergency medical modules to be sent throughout the world. At the Humanitarian Center, these items are processed and shipped to more than 50 countries to aid people of all religions and nationalities. Yearly, 300,000 hygiene and school kits, 12,000 quilts, and 8 million pounds of shoes and clothing are shipped to help people suffering from adversity and disaster around the world. We will tour the facility to learn about how they prepare items and service the global community.

Red Hills Desert Gardens
Red Hills Desert Garden is Utah’s first desert conservation garden. The nearly 5-acre garden features 5,000 water-efficient plants, a 1,150-foot stream stocked with native and endangered fish species, a replica slot canyon and prehistoric dinosaur tracks found onsite dating back 200 million years. The project is a collaboration of Washington County Water Conservancy District, City of St. George and Virgin River Program.

Treehouse Museum
A giant tree grows at the center of the Museum, with themed galleries branching off on two levels. Want Science and STEM activities? Don't miss the Science Circus on the Second Floor with Air Tubes, the Subaru Gravity Race Track, the Laser Table, the Quake table, and more, and the beautiful Walk in the Woods gallery also upstairs, which focuses on the native plants, animals, and birds of Utah and offers 8 touch screen games. Our school visit will include directed activities for just the group and time to explore the Museum exhibits while supervised by teachers and parent chaperones at a ratio of one adult to 5 children . Tours are 2 hours in length.

Hill Aerospace Museum
Discover the power and majesty of American air power from the earliest days of the Wright brothers to the Second World War; from the Cold War to cutting-edge, modern aircraft of the 21st century. With over 70 aircraft on display, and thousands of historical Air Force artifacts, Hill Aerospace Museum offers an incredible opportunity for discovery and excitement for the whole family! Founded in 1981, the museum is part of the United States Air Force Heritage Program and is supported by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah. Buckskin Hills Sledding

Utah Valley Llama & Krishna Temple
The Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple is very unique, even amongst the almost 400 temples of Krishna Consciousness throughout the world. Modeled after the famous Kusum Sarovar Temple in Mathura, India, it is the only Rajasthani-style building in the US. We will be taken on a guided tour of the temple and be able to ask questions. Afterwards, we are invited to stay for Govinda’s Buffet (all vegetarian), and tour the grounds with its 42 llamas, 3 zebus (miniature Brahman cows), 5 parrots, 4 peacocks, and over 200 koi (huge goldfish) in Shiva’s Koi Pond.

Utah State Capitol
Each tour covers topics including Utah State Capitol history and architecture, Utah history, and government processes. Every student will remember their first experiences at the Capitol! The guided tour is recommended for 4th graders and above. Younger students may enjoy the self-guided (parent-guided) tour and scavenger hunt better! We will have both a self-guided and guided group available.

Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum
The Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum has over 300 taxidermy animals from all over the world.  Staged like they are in their natural habitat, you might find yourself wondering if the animals will come alive. Touring the museum, you can listen to an audio presentation on your phone. The audio will tell you about the animals, and stories from our founder, Jim Rosenbruch, about how some of the animals were acquired.
 We also have an Interactive Children’s Gallery and the Aaron Olsen Family Insect Room.

Bean Life Science Museum
The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum is a natural history museum located at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. It offers a wide range of exhibits and collections, making it a great place for those interested in natural history and life sciences. On this field trips students will get to handle specimens and learn about specific topics in animal and life science such as habitats, family patterns, and ecosystems.

Aggie Chocolate Factory
The Aggie Chocolate Factory (ACF), Learning and Research Center for the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, is a small batch, bean-to-bar chocolate processing facility located at Utah State University. Our field trip will teach us about how they process and make their chocolate as well as include a mini-tasting.

Dinosaur Discovery

Jones Hole Fish Hatchery

Union Station
From horse-drawn omnibuses to electric cars, transportation in Ogden City has undergone many changes from the 1800s to present day. Students will discuss how Ogden evolved over time by seeing pictures from the Museum’s collection. Participants will play a matching game and notice how new technologies affected the ways Ogdenites lived and traveled.

Red Butte Garden
Younger students will explore living things using their sense of sight, touch, taste, smell and hearing to practice making observations. Students use their senses to discover the natural world and find patterns among living things and what they need to survive. Older students will observe changes that are happening right now! They will gain knowledge about the life cycle stages (phenophases) they are studying (Open Flower, Ripe Fruit) Students will be able to spot and communicate detailed examples of plant life cycle changes, as well as construct explanations on how the environment and temperature changes may affect the changes in living things.

Hogle Zoo
Utah’s Hogle Zoo stretches over 42 acres of natural hillside terrain generously donated by the Hogle family in 1931 where we have been for over 90 years. Embark on a guided tour to see and learn about the wonderful wildlife located at the Hogle. This field trip will have official chaperones and is stricter on student numbers. Additional parents and siblings who wish to join may do so, but have to pay regular price for admission or use a membership.

Timp Caves
